Your quote mentions the three "wants" of bass cabinet designers: Small, Efficient and Low. You can have any two but until we learn how to bend the rules of physics you can't have all three. Andy Lewis's Acmes are small and go very low but he gave up efficiency to achieve that.

My single 15 JBL in a medium cab has way more bottom and fills the stage better than my Avatar 212 neo. Maybe the neo speakers dont have the weight of trad magnets in both senses. Together theyre a pretty good combo for a med loud rock band.
