I was looking for the shortest bass possible, at any price, I found it for $169
My 28.6" Ibanez Mikro is smaller than a strat, and definitely no toy.
I added Sadowsky pickups/preamp and changed the input jack, added straplocks..
After a good setup,it's a solid, pro instrument.
Mahogony body, rosewood fingerboard, shortscale DR sunbeams and the Sadowsky electronics add up to a lot of tone.
Guitar center will order any color,
(orange, purple metallic, black, white)
and the Mikro gigbag is amazing.(like $25)
This bass is no joke, the bridge and tuners are fine, it comes as a P when u get the beginners pack,w the amp,bag etc..
or as a PJ when u buy the bass alone.
The Steinberger is small looking but no easier to play for small hands,it's just a skinny body, not a shorter reach or smaller neck.
The ashburys are small, but not as small as a micro, and it, ( along w the Ubass) has these unusual rubbery strings, which take skill to master,
the feel is very different from a regular electric bass, not the same, not as versatile or really a bass, they're kind of a different animal altogether,
I own a Ubass and love it,It's shorter than a Mikro, but it's not easy for a beginner and not a replacement for a bass.

The Mikro is the shortest scale production bass on the market,
go to the TB Mikro thread and see how folks love 'em,I havnt heard a bad review yet.
