Smoke gets in your eyes! :-(

How about making a concerted effort to make positive contributions to the topic at hand instead of dropping “your truth” in ways that suggest the other posters have no clue.

Fair enough. I thought my point was both relevant and fair, but at least you (and I respect your viewpoint) disagree. I'll think about the relevance of my contributions to threads like this one.

Any more comments folks cause I would love hear more.
For those of us ostracized smokers be it legal or unhealthy I’m curious how folks deal with getting a piece of equipment that could have spent a good part of life being in let’s say a smoke filled bar or stoner rehearsal space.
Sorry not trying to offend but I’ve had a couple of instances where a buyer complained. FWIW I find it hard especially when the buyer made a lower than listed price and grabbed a steal!
Idk, consider that people buy used stuff all the time. Just give it time and air it out! Can’t be that hard? Can it?
Hopefully or maybe not this doesn’t open a can worms..
Ok that’s my rant, we’re now back to our regularly scheduled program...

Frankly I'd be pissed if I bought a piece of gear that smelled like smoke and the buyer didn't disclose it or at least disclose it spent time in smoky places.

Doesn't matter if it can be gotten rid of, it's still time I have to put in to get rid of the smell.

If something smelled like smoke it would have to be a heck of a deal for me to want to buy it.

The old road warrior days, smoke and stale beer, some unidentified stuff caked on, drunk girl puked on your bass...last week, blood from wacking a drunk upside the head with your bass during Freebird, some leftover shrimp in your case from the wedding buffet, what is that stain, and why is my case dripping? Four roaches from two months ago in the accessory compartment...
Nowadays- Ooo, my case isn't minty fresh, I should get some Fabrese.

Five or six years ago a drunk puked on my bass case. On my birthday. I was drunk too.

Nothing like washing mystery vomit off a case the next day with a hangover.

Cigarette smoke has never been a deterrent in a sale for me. No I do not smoke, but I’ve spent many hours in clubs with smoking. It’s just attached to the club scene.

Airing out a piece of equipment will get the smell out every time in less than a week. It costs nothing to fix so I see it as a non issue. But I’m absolutely behind sellers discounting it for me! Lol such and easy fix.
