Double Bass Snapped Neck!!

Hey Silver, I didn't know that MEK will pull epoxy. Thanks.

Have you tried using hide or even Titebond after removing the epoxy with MEK?
I'm curious; doubtful, but curious.
No, in fact in the case where I had to remove epoxy, I had to resort to chiseling it off or scraping it away since I was trying to preserve vintage varnish that was under the epoxy or adjacent to it. Solvents would not have helped much unless I was also going to refinish the guitar. Just a hideous mess of the worst sort you can imagine;- and underneath it a nearly 50 year old alpine spruce top with a really fine aged varnish (with the really cool cracks) just dying to be heard. It sounds fantastic now.

There are places where I had to remove a little saturated wood by scraping so that I had wood to wood surfaces again. I did glue the bridge on successfully with 480 gram flake hide glue where most of the epoxy had been concentrated (about 1/8 inch thick!). It seems to be holding on quite well now with normal tension D'Addarios. A few more months and we'll call it permanent (but reversible).
