Snarky Puppy Interview

Most bass players have heard Michael League and his band Snarky Puppy throw down by now, but I'm a little behind the times and only recently became a fan. And just in case you haven't seen them yet, either, check them out because they're amazing. Here's a quick interview with Michael done by Dunlop.tv:

Good stuff. Not entirely my thing, but I enjoy their almost effortless looking performances (that I've seen online) and from a few things I've read, it 'sounds' like things happen democratically, organically, and with mutual respect, so that's great.

It's kind of a takeoff on the name of the 80's industrial dance band Skinny Puppy. Can't say I'm into the name either, but hey...

I'd never heard of them, and based on the name, I wasn't expecting this. Wow!

I for one love the band name. It doesn't take itself too seriously, or try to be too cool. It's funny, it brings up a visual, and it's quirky, much like the band.

As for the band and the music... I love those too!

I just heard of them a week ago-
the drummer in my P&W team mentioned them.
I ignored them because of the lame name.
they are quite impressive.
