this evening i had the unpleasant experience of being told that my services would no longer be needed by an artist with whom i have spent the better part of a year playing. regionally he is huge and is going to be signing a very lucrative deal with a major record label in the coming weeks. now i put my heart and soul into this project and feel like crap right now. i understand that life goes on and there will be other gigs out there but right now i'm pretty upset. my question is, over the course of your career, you must have been told a time or two that you were being replaced or let go. how do you handle such a situation? examples?

Wow, that sucks, dude. It's an age old story, but it still sucks. Keep the faith, though...you got that far once, you can do it again if you work at it.

I think it happened to all of the people here in one form or another! but you just have to take the most you can out of the situation, try and learn and grow from what happened and the experience you got!
in the end that makes you the better player and the better person! I think we all need a swift kick in the a$$ once in a while sadly, but I hope and believe it will work out for you man!
