so...i bought myself a chorus pedal

I just got boss ce-5 chorus ensemble based on reviews by fellow tbers, and also due to the fact that the tool guy and duff mckagan uses it.

But its my first time using a chorus pedal, i have no freakin idea what the knobs do. It has 4 knobs, E level(???), rate, depth and a stacked knobs that states high/low filter.

Any idea on what setting i should use to get close to a sound like this?

Hi, couldn't see the video, but here's what the knobs do:

E level (effect level) is essentially how much chorus is applied to your signal: at max you get all the chorus, and when set zero your signal goes straight through unnaffected. This is not a volume knob.

Rate is exactly that; how fast the chorus modulates.

Depth is how thick the chorus sounds (with E level at max and depth set very low, you can still get a very subtle chorus sound).

The filter knobs apply the chorus effect specifically to higher and lower fequencies of the signal. Using these knobs you can get the pedal to apply chorus to just your highs, or lows, or a combination of the two.

a fairly decent starter sound would be to set the E level to 3 o'clock, the filters and depth to 12' o'clock and the rate to aroun 10 o'clock, then tweak from there to get a sound that suits your ears.
