So what do Women think?

I think you would actually find the opposite with bass.

Seriously though, (without making any overly naive assumptions) I would say that more ladies you talk to would be unable to tell the difference between a bass and a guitar ESPECIALLY when in a case than those who could. So if this study is true, I'd say it definitely applies to bassists, at least until you tell them "Uh, this is actually a bass..." I would like to then see how quickly they move onto the next member of the band. :roflmao:

There is some truth in that.

How did that turn out? Is this the reason it's your "old" band? Haha
Nope. We kept the band professional, they didnt know we were dating for 6+ months. Its actually my "old" band because of a girl , but its because my guitar player got dumped and he said he " has to quit the band in order to show here that she means more to me then music" needless to say she never took him back and the singer ( my ex) moved back to Israel and I wasnt in tow for that.

Playing bass always had me In like Flynn at the classiest establishments.

Chicks Galore.

This made the rounds a while ago. My theory, then and now, was that it isn't so much about being "attracted" to the guitar. It's that a prop like a guitar signals that the guy isn't a psycho creep or whatever - he must be creative, sensitive, etc. It makes him less threatening. The "study" (if it warrants the word) was guitar vs. no-guitar, not guitar-vs.-bass or any other instrument. He probably would have had the same results toting a cello or a clarinet or a set of art supplies.

I find wearing a face mask also helps them feel more comfortable. Maybe that's just me?

I think it's more like this:

Woman sees man with guitar/bass/accordion/fiddle/whatever. Woman thinks "he probably banged a whole lot of hot chicks because we girls just love musicians, so in order to prove to myself that I am attractive, I'll let him have his way with me".

Let's see, what do women see...

The bass player stands behind the guitard, as in second fiddle. The bass guy is not good enough for guitar, and thus plays bass.

^^ This is what women just might see, and believe.
