There is some truth in that.Seriously though, (without making any overly naive assumptions) I would say that more ladies you talk to would be unable to tell the difference between a bass and a guitar ESPECIALLY when in a case than those who could. So if this study is true, I'd say it definitely applies to bassists, at least until you tell them "Uh, this is actually a bass..." I would like to then see how quickly they move onto the next member of the band.![]()
My old band needed a new singer, it was me, lead guitar and a drummer. We got a singer that was female and played guitar, who did she end up dating out of us 3? Me. Bass players for the win.
Nope. We kept the band professional, they didnt know we were dating for 6+ months. Its actually my "old" band because of a girl , but its because my guitar player got dumped and he said he " has to quit the band in order to show here that she means more to me then music" needless to say she never took him back and the singer ( my ex) moved back to Israel and I wasnt in tow for that. How did that turn out? Is this the reason it's your "old" band? Haha
No new studies required - that rule was established a long time ago.More new studies show that women are attracted to men with large amounts of money......
This made the rounds a while ago. My theory, then and now, was that it isn't so much about being "attracted" to the guitar. It's that a prop like a guitar signals that the guy isn't a psycho creep or whatever - he must be creative, sensitive, etc. It makes him less threatening. The "study" (if it warrants the word) was guitar vs. no-guitar, not guitar-vs.-bass or any other instrument. He probably would have had the same results toting a cello or a clarinet or a set of art supplies.

So don't correct them....... :-D ..I'd say it definitely applies to bassists, at least until you tell them "Uh, this is actually a bass..." I would like to then see how quickly they move onto the next member of the band.![]()
