Currently I got a p bass with an original wide range humbucker in it with a nice jazz neck on it from the late 70s. Mellow bass. Does the old thumpy thing with more bottom and more sustain than a short scale.
Then I got a squier bullet p mik (e series) with Lawrence pickups. My favorite sound but neck is too thin. Need more shoulder or fullness.
So i need a p bass with a full neck. Not thin.
I like the pawn shop mustang full neck as well as the sting signature bass. To me it's the fullness not the width that matters. So which bass to replace the squier? Ive been enjoying some jazz burb on some songs by two door cinema and other indie music but I know that a p just sits well.
Here are my local finds
$450 clean mim classic 60s P amber tint black w/gold pickguard. The poly version.
$299 ibanez road star ii p/j white with maple. It has some pups with adjustable pole pieces.
$249 peavey usa fury skinny round neck w/ hardshell case p pickup only.
