Soft Machine-style fuzz

I'd love to find a pedal that could make a sound similar to this. Perhaps a B:Assmaster?

Hugh Hopper frequently employed a Shaftesbury Fuzz, which was one of the many Univox Fuzz knockoffs available at the time. If you want authenticity, the Wattson Classic is going to be your best bet, but it's do-able with the Malekko.

Totally different animal, much more akin to a Tonebender. It's a good fuzz tone, but much less harsh than the Univox.

Shaftesbury Duo-Fuzz...also a Super Fuzz clone.

I did see an interview where Hopper confirmed that it was the Shaftesbury Duo Fuzz, but the page it was on isn't there any more. As far as I'm aware, the Duo Fuzz was the same pedal as the Univox and Shin-Ei versions, but badged by the British distributor.
There are a couple of places on Soft Machine Two where it sounds like the clean and fuzz sounds are blended. I don't know whether the bass was double-tracked or if they were running a DI alongside the fuzz/amp signal path. I built myself a Superfuzz clone with an added blend circuit which gets me close to that sound.

It sounds like the fuzz is DI-d here.

Yeah, that fuzz has a lot of highs even running through an amp.
I love this era of Soft Machine, perhaps slightly too much as not only have I tried to nail the fuzz bass sound, but I have an old Hohner Pianet like Ratledge has on top of his organ in this clip...
