I'm wiring up some P bass electronics, and I have to solder some wires to the back of the volume pot. I can't get the solder to stick to the pot. Any tips?

Take sandpaper or other course object and scratch the back of the pot. Steel wool scotch pad, even a screwdriver will work.

Solder has a hard time sticking to something if that something isn't hot enough. It'll bead up and roll around on the cold surface.
Hold your iron to the soldering location a little longer to heat up the surface.
Don't touch the solder directly to the iron.
Touch the solder to either the back of the pot or the pot and the iron at the same time.
The flux should melt out of the solder and stick to the heated pot.
