some Ampeg questions

Hi all, it's been a while since my last visit, but I am in need of a few answers...

So, here we go... (and I know I might sound like an utter fool for asking, but...) my Ampeg svt-450 head has got an effects loop on the back...what to do with that? I now use a Phaser, Overdriver and Tuner as pedals, planing on getting some more sometime though...and should I use the loop Post or Pre?
and I also see that there is a Power Amp In and a Pre Amp Out on there...anybody care to explain those two to me in plain english?

Finally, I got a 6x10 cab hooked on to the head, but would it be a smart thing to hook up my other amp (a Trace Elliot 4x10 combo) to it?

anyway, thanks for the help!

When I use them, I run pedals inline before the amp. Modulation effects like a Phaser, Flanger, or Chorus typically should go in the effects loop - but I don't bother mainly because I don't notice a big difference and it's extra cords to run. A fuzzbox or overdrive/distortion pedal usually should go inline before the preamp - and the tuner pedal doesn't really matter - as long as it gets a signal.
