stole my USB memory stick!

Ok, I forgot it in the library yesterday, it's not there anymore and no one handed it in at the info desk.

Seriously, there was important **** on that disk, who would steal something like that? You can get one for maybe 5 $, and it's worth a lot more to me than that.

I really hope it turns up.

I haven't got a clue, it's worth absolutely nothing, you can get them for free sometimes, and it takes absolutely no effort at all to give it to the librarian.

ehm, lots of documentation on my master thesis (most of which I have on my hard disk as well), a hiking report which was finished but which hadn't been uploaded yet, Sopranos episodes, pictures, mp3's...

At least you have the thesis on hard disk, bad luck about the hiking report do you think it would take long to re-do? have you got back-ups of the pictures? mp3's shouldn't be that hard to get a hold of again, unless you had a shed load of them on there.

That's the problem with modern technology:
A lot of valuable information put on small data carriers...
and stuff like this happens.

I hope the one who found it brings it back at the library as lost and found.

Hi.

Damn, that sucks big time, fortunately You had most of the data backed up.

If none of the data is hmm... compromising, I'd put a note on the library note board and hand over a 10€ or so to the librarians for the finders fee, no questions asked.

Good chances are though that the data is already erased and there's some awful noise that some people call music instead of Your data.

Hope this turns out for the best.
