Something like an Echobox?

i really do like the echobox... but maybe i should wait for the dd-7? it might acheive the speed, modulation thing and replace my boomerang all in one pedal?

side note- i have been looking for something to replace my boomerang anyway but i didn't like the rc-20 originally. i thing my rang is taking up alot of space and it might be kinda noisy

The DD-7 is supposed to be really good. I don't know how the delays are going to sound on bass so that's why I'm not all over it. I like the echobox because it has super clear repeats.


I know someone who got a DD-7 recently, i'll ask him next time i see him.

Ok so we've established that you want to be able to vary the speed and depth of whatever effect you're looking for. But that still doesn't narrow it down very much.

In what way do you want to get percussive? Do you want to make your notes percussive? Or do you want whatever pedal you're looking for to sweep to the rhythm of the song?

And can you describe the kind of sound you're trying to achieve more? I don't really have much to go on.

And what precisely in your mind would the speed and "modulation" controls on whatever pedal you're looking for do?

Also, it seems like you can completely take off the repeats with the modulation portion of the echobox. Do you want repeats, or do you want the modulation. Sorry if my initial post was inaccurate, I thought modulated delay only affected the repeats, but in the case of the echobox, you can create chorus sounds.

basically i want to do things that the devi ok and the boss tremolo can't to the loop as far as percussive things. do you have any ideas based on what info i've given so far? i know its vague but i guess i don't know what im supposed to be looking for. I thought about guyatone trem, empress trem, tech 21 dla, ibanez modulation delay.. Am i on the right track?

Well modulated delay and tremolo are two very different things. Maybe you want something like the new Boss slicer.

If it ever comes out there is a Boomerang III on the horizon that's in a smaller encasement.
