How do you think Nick self medicated? Martyn thought that Nick's crushing clinical depression, was caused by his ingestion of copious amounts cannabis. Drake even named an album after the Rizla indicator:

"The title of the album refers to the message printed at the near-end of a pack of Rizla cigarette papers, which Drake probably used for both tobacco and marijuana."

Nick was getting through as much as he could, there are many references to this in the track.
