    I play electric bass in a trio ( rock/alternative)
We are working on a acoustic set.
We compose our own music and songs, so we have converted them in an acoustic version.
60% of the songs works well, but we don't enough song for a set of 1hour.
We will compose new only acoustic in the future.
We need some popular for our next gigs and venues.

I need some suggestion of popular songs that could work with a trio, guitar, double bass, drums or percussion.
The original song must not be acoustic of course, but it must work nice acoustic too.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Have a nice weekend
  2. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Green Day seems to make people happy.

You can do a lot with Big Yellow Taxi, with male or female vocals.

I play in a wedding band. Some songs that go over ALWAYS, and I think might make interesting acoustic tunes:

    Shut Up And Dance
    Ain't No Mountain
    Mr. Brightside
    Semi Charmed Life
I Got A Feeling (Black Eyed Peas)
    Sweet Child O' Mine
    Johnny B. Good

A couple of the ones that I'm dumbfounded still go over...

    Living On A Prayer
    Don't Stop Believing
    Sweet Ca.... No. Forget it.
    Blister in Sun

I was kidding about the last one :) .

Just apply a little imagination and you never know what little gem you might come up with.

Nice pop tune with double bass: I scare myself - Thomas Dolby. And have a listen to bands with DB like The Wood Brothers and Bare Naked Ladies, you could do something with their material.

  11. I tend to think that most things can be translated, if you have the musical concept.

Here’s a band local-to-me covering Vanilla Ice acoustically.

In their live shows, they also do a medley of nineties hip-hop. Double bass, percussion, guitar, vocals. The lead singer knows how to own a crowd, and the audience loses their composure.

Dua Lipa's got some banging neo disco tunes that might go over on acoustic.
