I love me some 311. In fact, they mention their own name in several songs..does that count? ;)
A friend of mine refused to listen to 311, just beacause he HATED the fact that they say their own name in songs. I think its cool. :bassist:


Oh yeah, Kid Rock seems to mention other musicians all the time in his songs.. (I mean, somebody told me that..not that Im a closet kid rock fan....well used to be.) :hiding:

Weezer also has "Heart Songs" on the Red Album that runs through a whole pile of late 70s/80s bands and artists.

I was just listening to Better Than Ezra, "Extra Ordinary," where the verse endings reference other bands... "Just like that AC/DC song, come on baby shake me all night long" and "Just that Barenaked Ladies song, hot like wasabi when I'm next to your body."

And come to think of it, the Barenaked Ladies song in question references Sting ("like Sting I'm tantric").
