sonic experimentation using zoom B9?

i am wondering how much scope the Zoom B9 allows for sound mangling and sonic weirdness. i have read all the reviews and heard the demos, and while some of the presets sound pretty good, i am more interested in creating some off-key and experimental fx patches. is this unit flexible in this department? does it allow for much reprogramming beyond 'normal' settings? alternatively, is there another multi that could do a better job? i have read mixed things about Boss multis, either way i'm trying to decide whether going down the multi-fx route is a better option for experimental stuff than having a giant collection of pedals to drag around everywhere (which would also be ok, although a lot more expensive in the long run).
i would appreciate any advice you may have.

EDIT: If editing is anything like the B2 I have, it should be pretty easy to get used to.

The upsides are is that it has an FX loop, USB recording, the wah models are able to be placed before or after the drive section (and mixed :D), same with the delay (via changing the drive sections position), AND you can add another expression pedal for uber expressiveness (since the function 1 and 2 buttons can be taps).

The downsides: FX loop is only before the drive.

And thats just my opinion from looking at the manual quickly :D

The GT series would be the best if you want to explore more "avant garde" options in effect order. You can only have 1 of each type (pretty much standard in the multi effects world), but you can put them in any order. I know you can do that on the 6/6B and 8, and I don't see why they wouldn't keep that the same on the 10/10B

TBH, its quite tempting to buy a 6b (cheap) or a 10B (big LCD screen).....

EDIT: on the B9 you can only "reorder" the "EFX-1" and "FXloop->ZNR->PreAmp->EQ" (the 4 sections "move" as one block) sections.

EDIT2: You can also do 2 channel rigs with the 10B. Which is not helping my GAS for it. Or at least, it's not making me NOT want to try it out LOL :D

yea i heard about the 2 channel rig thing, it's definately a plus. meanwhile i've been offered a Zoom B9 at a decent price, which is making me want to buy it, i just don't want to end up with something i can't tweak that much, but i'm sure the Zoom will still have plenty of parameters to mess with.
