My first time transcribing an Allen Woody bass line. Interesting bass line, especially towards the end.

I've been doing the Allman Bros. version with my band for about 1 year now. It's an awesome tune but it can be difficult to get the feel just right.

I have to say, I like the Original AB version a lot more.

I had transcribed the ABB version, not knowing I was supposed to do the Gov't Mule version. And, actually, it's Allen Woody on both versions.

It's a very solid job. The ABB version just has more Soul IMO.

It's not a derail. That's very relevant information to anyone comparing the two versions, and I was thinking it strange that the bass lines were so different. Now I know why. I wish it weren't so difficult to identify personnel on a recording. I mean who cares who wrote the lyrics? It's the bass player everyone wants to identify.
