Hi all ! Bought myself a second hand Behringer BXL1800 UltraBass. Everything went well the first two days but suddenly the sound just stopped with a crackling "plop". After a while it comes back and it stopped again, very annoying. I first thought it could be the headphone connection or the FX in/out connection that are corroded on the inside (since they are never used). Thoughts ?

You could try jumpering the FX loop to see if that helps or at least put a jack in there and wiggle it about.
Not sure what you mean about the headphone jack, are you using that instead of the speaker and then it cuts out?
The fact it's making a pop sound when it cuts out would tend to rule out a corroded connection (but not absolutely).
Is there an actual accessible connection in the back to the speaker? Or is it all internal? Some combos actually have an exposed wire going into the cabinet section that is plugged into the back of the power amp section.
You might try jiggling this around if it is possible.
Alas this is typical with Behringer gear, it is cheap and often feature laden but does not tend to last.
I don't know the situation in your country but in the US most shops wont even take in a Behringer product for diagnosis. Not even with a down payment for the diag fee (most shops require that these days) because they know they will do the diag work, then tell the customer.....who will not want to spend 3 times the value of the unit on repair, and that's IF the shop can even get parts.
That's the other downside of Behringer, they revamp their product lines so often, a typical product has an 18 month production cycle then they move on to the next version. It's very much the consumer electronics model of constant obsolescence. Parts and technical support are non-existent long term because a 10 year old Behringer product has probably been replaced six times since it was new.
Less someone thinks I am just Behringer bashing I do own a fair amount of their gear, but mainly stuff that is used in non-critical roles. Like I have their rackmount distribution box, which I used to send two monitor sends from a rehearsal PA console to four channels of power amps. A headphone amp in my studio, that kinda stuff.
I also have three of their DI's (two of the BSS knockoff) two mono and a stereo one. I use these at gigs where there will be a lot of bands playing and there is a higher chance of my Countryman and Radial DI's to get ripped off.
