Double Bass sound post bulge on top

When I bought my Jakstadt a few years ago, it had been sitting in the seller's home for 3 years with no sound post adjustments. As a result, the sounpost was REALLY tight and had left a slight deformation in the top (didn't see it before I bought). No cracks or anything like that. Can anything be done, or should I just leave it?

Leave it alone for now. Next time the top has to be removed, have the area flattened and a thin veneer overlay added at a slight angle. That way there will be room to adjust the soundpost, and the bulge should not return.
