Double Bass sound post slipped.

When changing my strings and cleaning my upright, the sound post slipped out of place. What is the correct was to reinstall it?

You need a special tool, and you have to know how to use it. The tool you can get from e.g. Lemur. The soundpost has to be placed with no small amount of skill to prevent deleterious effects on the tone and playability of the instrument, and in extreme cases, damage to the instrument. You might consider getting the bass to a luthier. It might could be done while you wait, and for not much money.

+1!-- especially the luthier part. By the way, were you changing the strings one at a time? That's the usual procedure to avoid such mishaps. If the post slipped when changing them one at a time, it is probably too short (at least during this season).
