which one is top-loaded, and which is string-through-body?

I didn't cheat. everything is the same, except the loading.
even the same string.

BTW... I am pretty sure the first one could be the top load and the second one might not be the string-thru.

I'm really sorry, and I'll add the carrots option next time.

Pilbarabass is right concerning the setup, but I don't think that should affect the votes.
That's not my main bass any more, and I could't find the special adjuster for the truss rod, to loosen it a bit.
By the way, I would call this "slight fret buzz"

Most of the arguments for thru-body stringing are regarding sustain, no? If that's the case, fret buzz completely ruined that.

Based on the last note's sustain alone, I'd guess that A is the top-load.

IMHO, that's not minor slight fret buzz buddy. That wouldn't necessarily get lost in a mix. It's keeping you from hearing any difference tonal or sustain differences in the clips. You could simply lighten up your attack for the sound clips.

good idea, shame that I didn't thought of that.

anyway, I don't have more time to waste on this comparison, I just had this samples around, and wanted to share them.
I still don't think, that the buzzing makes the judge..
maybe some people expected more difference.
To me (knowing which is which) there's no significant difference. the only difference is no bigger than the difference between my two playing.
this shows me that on this particular bass, it doesn't really matter.

(some one said on another forum, that through-body stringing completely ruins the overtones. I just made tha samples to rebut this. that's why I used only the largest (E) string, because he said the cause is the breaking angle behind the bridge stud)
