Anybody have good or bad experience with the soundcraft ui12? I am thinking of pulling the trigger on a used one tomorrow night ($300 CAD), but I saw a brutal video review and am now having second thoughts. It has enough inputs and aux sends for what I need and I really like the idea of the built in DSP--EQ's, gate, compressor, etc etc. I'm wondering if I wait for black Friday if I can get a deal on a new one with warranty. This will be used for live sound. It will be a "backup" sort of. I just sold the last backup because it never got used. Our PA system belongs to my bandmate and I want to have my own and have speakers, a power amp, powered sub, and am now just missing the heart of the system. Problem is what good is all the built in DSP if the bloody thing doesn't work. The review said his channels became noisy and the thing crashed and had all kinds of problems like radio noise!! Comments section had people with similar experiences and people with great experiences. Probably has half to do with user difficulties and half to do with getting a good or bad unit. But if they make bad units, then sooner or later a "good" one can fail. If I do follow through and look at it I will test the channels for noise but with something that's got a learning curve to using it I may not be able to assess it very well in the short time available. Your input brother and sister TB'ers would be greatly appreciated as always!
