Double Bass Space Bass Radical Custom Build

I'm startin this mornin buildin this unique design EUB... I own a metal fabrication and machine company so my design contains very little wood and uses materials not commonly used,,, but bein a metal guy instead of a wood worker this is my design.... It is basically a 34" scale Fender Jazz setup with a fretless lined bolt neck.... alot of key details are not shown in the concept dwg.... I have also designed a bridge mounted muting device to try to achieve a less resonant sound while it is engaged,,, or a traditional sound if not engaged.... Anyways here is a link for U're viewin pleasure... All constructive input is appreciated... [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

If U notice there is no neck pocket.... What I did to keep the neck straight with the body is cut 2 female slots in the neck heel,,, and I have 2 protruding male keys on the adapter plate to fit the neck slots and then it is a 6 bolt neck to the adapter the the 2 3/8 bolts attach the adapter to the tube body.... Super strong and full neck access to the last fret.... The design has already evolved from the posted drawing.... I will post pictures of the next steps as soon as they are complete.... I cant wait to plug it in !

Be prepared to get a lot of buzzes, rattles etc.
(at least if you use a lot of screws)
Maybe it'd be a good idea to solder everything with an arc welder afterwards?
No Weld only Screws !... But that wont cause any problems..... The reason for the tube body is ,,, Im also keepin the budget under control and the Alum tube was what I had in stock at my shop.... But it works well for full neck access , strength and when it is all complete mechanically , I have a plan for makin it look Cool ,,, After bein musically correct and a solid instrument ,,, Most importantly it's gotta be Cool !.. At least that's the goal..... Thanks for the Input .... Keep it comin.

Almost got the mechanics complete and lookin forward to doin the cosmetics I'm shootin for somewhere between Star Wars and Harley Davidson for a finished look here's some pic's

Hi Guys !! It's been a long time since I visited the forum..

I wanted to post a few pictures of the Bass I started almost 2 years ago.. It got put on the shelf due to other pressing matters
but it is almost finished..The neck is an SX fretless but is going to be a Moses Graphite fretted.. I plan on finishing the body in flat black and polishing the metal to a bright finish..

I'm ordering a Moses Graphite paddle head fretless neck with Skull and Crossbone inlays

Im almost to the cosmetic part and also building a nice custom case that has polycarbonate windows so you can see what is inside.
