The living room of my apartment. It's on top of the roof of a brownstone with nothing next to it, gentrifying hasn't quite taken over yet, and the neighbors downstairs are cool with it as long as we dont make it too late.
The moment folks with family values start moving into the ole' neighborhood, the party will be over. But so far so good.

we use the room above our drummer's garage. we do have a PA system but it's not in the photo. that's my fender rumbe 350 combo amp in the back right
My different bands all use different spaces basically.
One band we used to primarily play in the basement of the keyboardist's house which was great because it was free, but the room was kind of small and narrow and we couldn't get too loud. But now the drummer is renting a storage unit that he's outfitted with internal walls, acoustic tiles, etc... It's actually a smaller space, but the dimensions are slightly better for playing, and we can crank it and have better audibility of each instrument because of the better positioning (and more flexibility matching with the drums). The rest of us will probably end up chipping in like $20/mo each to defray the cost for the drummer.
The next band practices at the bassist's house in her basement. That's kind of a central rehearsal space, because her and her husband are in 3 bands between them (one they are in together and 2 separate ones). That's probably the most fun place to play/hang out because it's a bigger space, and it's outfitted with old Ludwig Vistalites, a Fender Bassman 300/8x10 and a decent PA. And lots of good coffee for our sunday morning practices.
Next band practices at my house, but in the upstairs (I live downstairs). The singer lives upstairs. That's pretty cool because it's super convenient for me, we have a nice Mackie PA, and it's a very social vibe with beer/wine etc... and usually before or after we'll watch something on tv and hang out and drink some beer/wine etc...
Last band practices at the drummer's house in his basement. Nice little spot as well. Decent sized. At least a small PA there usually (from his other band).
I can do practices at my place too. I have a big 8 piece drum set (technically 2 very similar kits that I've fused together and actually sound really good together), a bunch of keyboards, and guitar and bass stuff. For band #2, often the guitarist will come over and we'll work on stuff together (working on chord voicings, sounds, etc...)(since I play keys).
So yeah, mostly basements for me these days. I have rented spaces in the past. There is one downtown that is kind of dingy but not too bad. Another one is closer to where I live now that is bigger and I think cheaper, and they have pretty good equipment (vintage Mesa and Marshall heads for guitar, 8x10 cabs for bass, decent drums, etc...). Practicing is so much more chill though when you don't have to pay at the end.

When I decided to get a second wind at the band thing I insulated and drywalled my detached 2 car garage. The sound is deadened enough not to bother the neighbors or wife's tv watching in the house. Having a rehearsal space and PA allowed me to attract better quality players when putting a cover band together.
Usually in the drummer's rehearsal room in her house. Its about a 20-30 minute drive depending on traffic. Other times, in my garage. About a 20 step walk from the living room for that one.
In a room at the drummer's house. Small, but sufficient. About a 10-15 drive and me, the singer and the guitar player usually ride together and laugh about silly stuff the whole way.
