Double Bass Speaker level D.I.

I have a GK 400 RB II. I love it's tone and have tried using the line out though i do not like the line out tone. I like to use the GK at home and small jam sessions. Sometimes I need more output. I have a power amp and have tried using a line out to the input of the power amp but found it sounds sterile. I would like to use a D.I. with a speaker level input to capture the overall tone of the amp. Has anyone here used one? How did it work out for you? Thanks!

The cab might have a larger influence on sound than you may think. Try the speaker level DI, but if it doesn't give you the sound you expect, the cabs might be too different in sound coloration.

I think the cabs are matched well, currently using the Bag End 2x12 for the GK, and the idea is to also use the 18" sub for louder occasion's. I know I can get a more powerful amp but was just wondering what this might sound like.

The line level output on the GK 400RB II is taken from the speaker output through a simple resistive pad. So you are getting the exact same signal at the line out jack as you would at the speaker out jacks -- just at lower level.

If you really do need a DI, many direct boxes on the market today can accept speaker level. +1 on the Countryman suggestion.

I was given a Peavey IPR 3000 so I used the Direct out on the GK into it. Signal Chain is GK to 2x12, direct out to Peavey IPR to single 18. You were right it is coupled with the output. It sounds fantastic. I was using the Send as an output and it did not sound correct. Thank you.
