Speaker Nerd Question

My curiosity has been piqued and I can't seem to find an answer through Google. I have two Celestion Vintage 30s (guitar speakers, eeek!), one was made in 1993 and the other was made in 2000. Here's a picture. 1993 is on the left and 2000 is on the right. Could anyone tell me why why one magnet has the raised center and the other does not? I'm genuinely curious as to the why and how.

Probably no significant difference. Just different tooling and a slightly different resulting finish on the pole piece.

Just swedged in differently due to different manufacturing techniques or tooling.

Interesting, I figured the bump in there might give the voice coil a bit more space to move.

For purists, both these speakers are "pre-China" to make matters more interesting. Well that makes sense to me, thanks.

A bump on the back plate might allow for more x(lim) but that's not what is shown.
