Speaker repair glue question

Do not use silicone sealant.

Once silicone is used, it’s difficult for proper adhesives to be used down the road without special cleaning solvents. It’s really bad and expensive to clean up.

Well, got the cab back from cartage today.

Ran some power through it and there was some rattle from the lower left speaker.

Once I pulled the grill off I found that the screws holding the speaker against the cabinet were about halfway OUT!!

Screwed back in, cleaned it up and back in business.

Easiest fix ever.

I used a clear RTV caulk on a 12 inch hartke kickback speaker. 20 years old! Only use at home for home practice now days but the RTV worked....so far!!

Generally not the best choice, sometimes not so good choices work out ok though.
