I've got my guitar stands and amplifier for my practice room. My next goal is to be able to play along with my Tascam trainer. I'm happy with its ability to slow down/speed up/loop through songs, just not so happy with the lack of bass coming through it.
My first setup was plugging the trainer directly in to the amplifier. Didn't work so well. The amplifier is a B-DEC 30 and I plugged in through the aux port (stereo RCA). The song (Never had any reason by Head East) sounded decent, but the bass was lost. That surprised me because I had assumed that the amp would naturally favor the bass.
I then ran the signal through my Behringer board then to the amp. That allowed me to apply some EQ to bring out the bass. It's better but still hard for me to hear.
I started looked at some speakers, thinking that I could run them off the board. Looked at Bose, some Yamaha and M-Audio BX5a.
Any recommendations on a set of powered speakers? Right now I can spend $300. I could save for a few months and get $500.
It's a small board, so I don't think that I can drive a sub-woofer off of it.
Am I just taking this in the wrong direction? Should I just head over to the store and buy a cheap stereo system and crank up the bass? If it takes a line in, it would work.
