I'm excited about the 'Custom Shop' Euro products and this is the reason why, it will only attract more players to the brand and when these players want a USA Custom Shop bass then they will know what its all about...same specifications with very small design changed, I mean missing a haz that can be purchased if wanted over the DGTC option and then the milling at the neck to body location....what else???

I would love this as a 6-string.

Based on some of the comments I'm reading, I may be in the minority here, but I'm not all that thrilled with what's been revealed so far. It might just be in the way that the website update is organized, but it seems much more limiting/confusing than it could be.

Is the LT really a new model or just a standard Euro4 LX with a few new options? Options that they could make available to have on any bass in the range, but instead restrict them to the LT. I'm sure there are reasons for it, but it doesn't make sense to me.

Personally I'd have preferred that they leave the two main models alone (neck through vs. bolt-on) and just expanded on the options that can be selected for each, truly giving the Euro basses much more of a custom shop appeal.

The LT is a designation for the extra milling to provide the proper weight, nothing more than that....all other options are what's selected for electronics and color, etc. It seems that you might have got lost with this LT definition.

I took the first step toward my first Spector yesterday by reaching out to my dealer. He needs to run some questions by PJ following NAMM, and then I'll decide on my model. It'll definitely be a 6-string.


Edited to ask: Out of curiosity, what would be an approximate build time for a US Spector?

Ok, regarding the Euro LE1979, does it count as a birth-year bass, even if it was a reissued version?

I hit 40 in June. I have five months to convince the wife that this is justified. (who am I kidding, I'll probably just try to sneak one in through the garage and hope she isn't paying too much attention.)

The very most recent Rebops had a carved-slab body, not what seems to be fully carved, so the comparison is a little harder as there are different rebops.

It was running around 8 months build time but it does increase after the NAMM event which requires more time...so, hurry!

Thanks! I'll decide my model as soon as my dealer contacts PJ. 8 months is fine. I was more or less determining the time I will have to pay my balance.

Yep, 1979 was the year for this configuration.

Yes it is, I mean you have a block of wood that's been weighed and due to the density of that chunk you can determine how much to remove in order to give it a common or an average weight prior to adding the top Maple section...I would guess that they weigh this section as well so they can determine what's removed from the back portion.

After 3 months of researching, and purchasing 2 Spectors they go off and change everything. Well I can't get mad, just have to relearn everything I just figured out. I have never considered purchasing a new one but could someone explain how it works. Say I pick a $5,000 model what do they do require a certain amount down then pay it off as long as it's paid in full when completed?

Well, as a player that has been eyeing Spector Basses for the last few years, I've gotta say that my desire for a Euro LX just swung to a Euro LT. I like the subtle changes.
