Part of me wants to take a ride to Cherry Hill and look at this thing in person. Their price is way too high for something with this much damage and I kind of want to let them know that :)

Hello all! Sorry for the long absence. Been out of country for a little bit, I am back and I finally got the jet lag out of the system. Thank you Air Force! Anyways, hope everyone is doing well. Upon getting back to the tundra, I picked up both the Forte and Coda, went to town running through a Coheed album to learn songs by ear. I realized that I just couldn't put the Forte down, everytime I've played my Coda, I would jam for 30min to an hour then roll straight to the Forte. The NS body is impossible to move away from in my own opinion. The neck, the body, the sound. It's perfect for me. I always compare my Coda to it and it falls short. So with all that, the Coda is too good of a bass to be sitting around and my Forte will be my only bass until I get the opportunity to play any other US NS style basses. I will be posting up the bass in the classifieds for what I paid. Just figured I would give the club the heads up in case any one would be interested. It has been in the club for a hot minute! Take care!

I like staying under $30 for strings except for the exception of the TI strings...that was a one time order. Though I'd love to try some Dogal Carbon flats...maybe after Christmas:)

I hear ya on pricing, that's why I've never tried the TIs or Dogal Carbons despite the rave reviews here on TB. As for the Fenders, I got my set for around $25 on bass strings online due to the TB discount. Until I try them on another bass not sure if they have any real advantage in tone (it may just be that they are very even/neutral overall) but they hold up for now.

Just picked up an Ampeg Micro VR and matching 210 cab in a trade deal. Haven't really played through the cab too much but man this thing sounds great with my Euro 5 through my PH412. Was looking for something smaller and lighter that could still hang with a band if I play through a big cab. This little thing with the VT Bass is a great combo! Pure Spector Ampeg tone!

Cool, the VR is much better sounding than the Micro-CL, the VR has a gain control and master volume, and the volume only CL has a hard time with a high output active bass unless you use the -15db input and it doesn't sound the same.
The Micro VR cabinet is also a pretty tight sounding box, a few guys here gig out with 1 or 2 of the 210 cabs regularly.

Good to know! I looked at the CL but I liked the vintage look of the VR and the extra output of the VR is nice to have too. Using the -15db on the VR cuts way too much volume and tone for me, but I find the input gain is perfect with my Euro 5 so I couldn't be happier so far.

As much as I like my Mesa cabs, I could totally see myself ditching my 610 for a few more of these 210's to run with my SVT someday! Would be a big lightweight cab setup.

I'll do lippylou a favor and post a teaser pic or two. This is the "Brotherhood of the Traveling Coda" bass. However, I fully understand what he is saying. I am so spoiled by the NS body that anything else is just a bummer. If you are a Fender-style body fan, the Coda is the bass for you.

These are actually the pics that Tony used when he sold it to me! Plus an extra to show the Babicz bridge that I installed on it. It is SOOOOO good with that bridge. :D
