SPector Legend 5 help

I'm currently looking to buy a legend 5 bass. The problem I have, and this is rather dumb, is that it doesn't come in blue. I cannot afford a euro or American series model and I am pretty sure that I want the spector sound. Anyway, the spector does come in slate gray. The problem there and the true heart of my question is this: in most of the pictures I have seen, the slate gray almost looks purple. Purple I can deal with. The Gray I can't. If it is truly gray the I will most likely get the red model (cherry something). What I'm asking is, is it really gray or is it more purple. I know this sounds dumb, but I know car colors are occasionally misappropriated.

Does anyone really know what it looks like? The only store I know of doesn't have a gray model.

Doesn't anyone know something that can help me? At least tell me what's confusing or how dumb I sound. I know it sounds like it should be obvious, but it says gray and looks purple. Am I seeing things wrong?

at first i laughed at you, then i laughed at you again...
then i checked out the spector website [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
and went 'oh i see what he's gettin at'. yeah does look purple big time!!! much more so than in the pic you posted:


ive got the amber burst legend 5 and it looks sweet but that cherry burst also tickles my fancy.
you wont be dissapointed with the sound you get out of this bass :hyper:
