Spector Pickups

Hey guys, I'm looking for a new bass right now and came across a Spector bass with active P/J EMG pickups. I'm not sure what model pickups they are though. I think the bass is an NS-4 or a Legend (can yall tell me which it is?), the ad didn't say and it was made in 1997. Here are a couple pictures of it:

Can you all tell me if the pickups on this bass are better than EMG-HZ's? I'm looking at a similarly priced Schecter Studio 4 also which comes with EMG pickups, and if these are better I might go with the Spector.

Also, is the straplock at the bottom of the bass in a good position? The bass I have now has the straplock centered, would having it off-center make the bass balance differently?

It's not a Legend because Legends come with EMG-HZ's; it's probably either an NS or a Rebop (the Rebop would make more sense considering that it's similarly priced to a Schecter). The EMG's on that are definitely better than the HZ's, which don't do justice to EMG at all (very thin and brittle IME). I'd go with the Spector over the Schecter, no question ... Spector has better components, better build quality and quality control (Schecters are all over the map in that regard), and will hold its resale value much better. Can't answer your question about the straplock though.

That is the equivalent of what an Euro4 is now but with dot inlays.
The Emg's on that bass are better than the hz's.Those are active while the hz's are passive.
