Spector Rex 5, see-thru black. Maple neck and body wings, rosewood fingerboard. Body is in great shape, some minor swirls here and there. Used in the studio and on one video shoot, but I’m not really using 5 string basses anymore. Upgraded to active EMG DC 40s and an EMG BT tone circuit = really huge sounding bass. Spector, Maple, Active EMGs...enough said. 35” scale, but thinner profile neck front to back than my old euro 5. Easy playing 5 string. No original case, but I have a beat up generic hard shell case I’ll included if you want. Bass was recently set-up with NEW Ernie Ball strings.

    Weight: about 9.8lbs

    $675 shipped CONUS.

Does this have that monster growly Spector metal sound? How much does it weigh?

Quite Growly and Metal-y indeed, but is not a one trick pony. Weight about 10lbs. The EMG DCs really open up the power and add more articulation and clarity, as compared to the EMGHZs.

They sound great and they play and feel just as good as a Spector Euro.

I replaced the HZ's in a Spector bass with the 35 DC's and it was a dramatic improvement.

Yeah totally. I just plugged this in again, and it’s huge sounding. Like it was begging to stay with me.
