SpectraFlex Warranty Fiasco

Just wanted to share my recent SpectraFlex cable warranty fiasco. I sent in a Spectraflex cable for warranty consideration. If you move the cable, it snapped, crackled, and popped. Not cool with an 800W amp. They have you send it to a PO Box. As in a box in the lobby of a post office. I didn't hear from them for a few months. I checked I and they say they never received it. Tracking tells me they did. Here's their reply when I pushed for more info...

"Hi Bob!
Yes, the PO Box is inside the lobby of our Post Office.
My guess would be that they put your package in the wrong box. I find other peoples mail in our box quite frequently.
I return that mail to the Post office.
Apparently the person who received your package was not so considerate.
I do not believe the Post Office will be much help to you.
Since neither of us is responsible for the loss, we’d be willing to meet you half way on replacing your cable."

Ummm - that was a pretty expensive cable with a lifetime warranty I sent them. Because of their quirky receiving department setup, there is exactly one shipper the customer can use which is apparently known by SpectraFlex to be unreliable in Ft Walton Beach FL.

The opportunity to file a claim has lapsed. Due to COVID circumstances I laid back and waited for them to contact me. I will never make that mistake again either.

Something to think about if you're cable shopping.

FWIW I sent in (2) cables to Roadhog Cables the same week and had a pair of replacements within a month. Great service and hats off to them for that!
