What Amplifier Specifications Do You Feel Is Beneficial?

So here's what I'm thinking....

To your experience, what amps have you found that had specs that didn't seem to match the real-world performance. This can be positive or negative (let's please be respectful with the negatives- list the what and why and avoid the brand-bashing/trolling pretty please).

We've all heard and likely experienced "watts" exaggerations , so maybe just add a "like" to mentions of amps that you've experiencd that with.

A good example would be something that listed a low THD but seemed lifeless and non-responsive.

Maybe also models that just had practically no published specs.

Definitely give shout-outs to amps that exceeded your expectations from what you see on paper.

Hey, it's the interwebz, I totally expect snark and sarcasm. Just try not to go to blows with other members, M'kay? Use those "IMHO" "IME" "My $0.02" etc.

IMHO. Anyone who believes that the spec sheet translates into anything useful for "real world" operation, is making a false assumption.
That being said, IME. I would expect low THD numbers to equate to BORING. It's the distortion that gives a signal "life."

My $0.02...
The specifications of an amp are very much like the gas mileage rating sticker they put on new cars, where YMMV... literally!
These specs are derived under very stringent laboratory conditions using sophisticated test equipment.
Or the marketing department just pulls something out of their arse.
Just like gas milage, what the sticker says, and what you get can vary greatly depending upon conditions.
