Spinal Tap Big Bottom Doubleneck

I find it very funny that you just posted this as I watched "Spinal Tap" last night for the first time in roughly 25 years. I had forgotten all about the "Big Bottom" song and that they all play basses on the song and that the bass player played this double necked bass.

I was going to post about it earlier today but didn't.

Fate??? Hmmmmmm

Saw them in Nashville (in what? '92?) on the "Break Like The Wind" tour. "Big Bottom" was the final encore, with of course everyone on bass. Being in Nashville there were some odd special guests who showed up on stage, the only one I remember by name was Bela Fleck.

After the "Big Bottom" finale, Shearer (as Smalls) reached into the front of his spandex and pulled out a zucchini that'd been there the whole time. He proudly raised it above his head and then tossed it into the audience (like someone would want the prosthetic as a souvenir). It was like the parting of the Red Sea as everyone fled from it in opposite directions through the rows!
