Anyone else have issues with the Spotify software on their computers? For several months, the fans on my laptop would run at odd times, sometimes sounding like the computer was about to lift off and fly away.

When I examined the issue, I saw that Spotify was eating up a ton of memory. I see in several online forums this appears to be a fairly common issue.

I removed all traces of Spotify from my computer 10 days ago and POOF -- my fans have run nice and quiet since.

I remember reports of this at least 5 years ago. I wasn't using it then, but both my kids were, and it was indeed hitting their laptops hard. I believe several updates later, over a year or so, hugely improved performance. They both still use it to this day happily.

It's a great product. I was only using it for podcasts and enjoyed it. However, it's evident Spotify's nerds need to tighten up their software as many people are still experiencing issues with RAM usage, fans, overheating, etc.
