Just caught the unbelievable Tom Jenkinson at a festival (Glastonbury) and he got some brilliant keyboard sounds, like a Fender Rhodes - or a synth-style version of a Rhodes, that to me sounded like he was using an octave pedal with both octaves on - low + high.
The weird thing was, was that he got chords to sustain and without them bleeding into each other like they normally do when you pitch-shift more than two notes at once (double/triple stops etc) - the only thing I can think of that would enable me to that would be a synth patch on the bass - are there any pedals out there that would do a similar job?
And does anyone know what pedals and stuff TJ uses in Squarepusher?
Basically I'm thinking about new, cool effects toys to buy....!
