This is the baddest 5 string on a budget youre going to find. i dont usually like getting into talking stuff up, but theres a reason for this one.

first off is the playability. this bass plays just as good as my nordy 5. the neck is dead straight and the truss rod will adjust as much forward or back bow that you want. zero flip or raise at the heel so perfect action all the way to the 20th fret. the frets have been leveled so that i could slam the action to the fretboard like i do on my boutique basses. a brand new bone nut has been cut as well. in addition, a bridge from a fender american deluxe 5 has been installed with adjustable bridge spacing.

next off is the electronics overhaul. a set of lakland hanson pickups has been installed along with a 2-band stringray preamp (not ernie ball manufactured). the pickups sell for 140 a set and the preamp sells from manufactures like sgd lutherie and nordstrand from 110-150 bucks. this one is set up vol/vol stack, bass, treble.

this thing plays and sounds better than mim and mia versions of this bass. ive owned the mia and my students have come in with the mim versions and none had necks that functioned like this one.

condition wise, theres a couple of dings and some worming on the back from a belt buckle. nothing too bad though.
500 shipped (fret level/new bone nut/lakland pickups/2 band musicman stingray preamp/amercan deluxe bridge with adjustable spacing)
id also consider selling this without the preamp for
350 shipped. (fret level/new bone nut/lakland pickups/amercan deluxe bridge with adjustable spacing) a new nut and fret level is going to cost at least 125 at the cheapest from a repairman with prices usually higher.

heres some soundclips

with the pre and laklands

I've played this bass and it is flawless. Super low action and plays like butter. I have one of these without bells and whistles and they are the best 5s I have ever played for the price.

It really sounds great. Did the Lakland pickups drop in without mods? Do you need to remove the pickguard for batteries with this pre?

ive had tons of pms asking questions about this guy or whether its still available but its still here. feel free to make me an offer! im not in a hurry to move it, but wouldnt mind using the funds from this to get one of my other basses refretted. also this weekend the stock bridge will be going back on.
