Squier Deluxe Jazz 5 vs Peavey Grind 5

Hi! I'm new on here, and in need of a little help.

I've recently joined my favourite local band on bass duties, which I'm absolutely ecstatic about, seeing as I'm playing in my favourite (local) band on my favourite instrument!

However, my current bass, an OLP MM4, is in no condition for gigging, and I really want a 5'er... and my 18th is conveniently 6 weeks away!

So, on to the main point- I'm stuck between these two beauties:

Squier Jazz 5

I've tried the Peavey and I adore it, but I've heard very good things about the Squier. I've tried an ESP LTD and some Deans to compare to the Peavey, and the Peavey came out on top.

I play alternative hard rock, influences InMe, Muse, Brigade, Fightstar, and I definately need the 5 strings. I'm playing through a Peavey MAX 115, which I am upgrading in the near future.

The Squire VMs are very nice!! Im not a fan of the Peavey Grind. I played a couple and just didnt leave me wanting to play them any longer than a few minutes. It hink it was the setups and the electronics didnt sound too good. I do really like the Peavey Millennium AC BXP 5!! These are incredible basses for the $$$$. Feel good and sound good.
ESP LTD very good too. I almost bought a B105 for the hell of it 2 days ago, but had to stop myself since Im am saving my $$ for a MTD ZX5.
So its a tough one because you have 2 good choices.

Thanks! Anyone know how the Squier plays? I really liked the playability of the grind...

For me there would be no competition: Squier all the way. Every single Grind that I've ever played has had serious construction issues (Sharp frets, action literally ON the frets, etc) and terrible B strings. The Squier, on the other hand, feels really solid and well put together, and has a pretty decent B string. It also has a LOT moer useable sounds than the Grind.

Well I played the Squeir at GC yesterday in Danvers along with anumber of other Bass guitars and it was the only one that I'm still thinking of. In fact I ordered on today online as I wanted it out of the box and GC only had the floor model. My current bass is a Jazz 5 with EMG's. BU is a Hohner 5 sting stick. Chris P.

Yeah, of the 2 I was really leaning towards the Squire VM. They are very nice! I like the matching headstock. You will be happy !
