Squier Matt Freeman weight

Just got a 2011 (first year ?).
I was expecting a light bass, since it's basswood. Not at all, it doesn't compare favorably with my 72 LP Custom...bathroom scale is not accurate, but it seems at least 9 pounds.
My 89 MIJ P, being basswood also, is much lighter, at least one pound.

Is that the average weight for that model ?

9 lbs sounds about right . Five or take a few ounces. Those basses are hard to come by and very sought after. Enjoy it!!
I think these and the Classic Vibe 60's Precison and Jazz basses are some of the best Squiers to ever be produced.

I really got this based on reviews; and hopefully to make a buck on the japan, since I don't need two Ps.
Just love the looks. I liked the neck, but no better than my MIJ, which is slightly thinner.
I dislike the weight, but probably I'm spoiled by my Longhorn.
Still on the fence on tone, since I need to get rid of lousy (although new) Giannini strings first.
But I can see its potential...

Mine is probably around 9 lbs. Feels exactly as a P bass should imo.

Mine isn't getting played a ton recently, but still don't think i could ever part with it.
