Squier Mustang vs Dimension IV

I currently play a Squier Vintage Modified Mustang bass (30" scale). I'm interested in getting a Squier Deluxe Dimension IV (34" scale). Can anyone tell me if the smaller body on the Dimension makes the bass play closer to a 30" scale than a 34" scale? And, does the smaller body generally make it easier to play? I've had 2 shoulder surgeries that have hampered my shoulder and arm mobility making a shorter scale bass almost a necessity. I can play a Sterling Stingray Ray4 (sub model) just fine, but struggle with most Ibanez basses.

Two completely different basses in feel and in sound. I’ve owned both and currently own a Dimension. My Squier Dimension doesn’t feel like a short scale bass and is rather heavy for a smaller body size. Haven’t weighed mine but I’m guessing a good 9 pounds. It’s very similar in weight to the Sterling Ray4 you mentioned but it has a larger 1.625” nut width. Really love the Dimension.
