This is my second foray into the world of 5 stringers, and like the first time, I am finding it is not for me.. Yes, the B string is black in the one picture.. it was the same gauge, but black to serve as a training wheel of sort - I am a 4 string purist... it helped to keep me from hitting the B when I wanted the E. The regular string is back. Silly, but it worked for me. (and the guy I got it from initially, it was his stellar idea.) He called it a "visual crutch" LOL And it actually is helpful if you are making the transition. Basically it's story: Long story short, the preferred neck was placed on this body, as it was not available off the shelf. It's a home run. It feels great - but again, I am an old school 4 string playah. So, looking to trade this for a 4 string. I am not adverse to adding some $$ in if need be, but I am poor, so be nice. Oh! The pick guard is white, and is available if you want - and bonus, it is signed by Charlie Hargrett, the guitarist from Blackfoot. He lives in my town. Cool guy. Will ship securely packed with a padded gig bag. Thanks for looking!
Would you be open to doing a straight up sale? Also are there other upgrades aside from the neck? Thanks.
Ok, I am willing to sell outright as well... $250 shipped. Changed to add a price and changed to "For Sale/Trade" If you are out West, help me out with an additional $25 for freight if it's cool. Thanks!
Hello! Honestly I am not sure.. the weight is roughly 9 lbs.. for the record I HATE heavy basses.. this to me doesn’t fall into that category.. actually I have a 4 that is much heavier.. And yeah it is pretty nice on the eyes...
I figure for the money, it’ll far exceed expectations. It did for me. I just suck at the 5 string. Why penalize the bass? Lol it should be played and enjoyed.
Added a few more pics I took this morning.. funny when I had it out for the pics this morning, I so want to keep it, but I can’t. Something comes in, something has to go sadly. Someone will really enjoy this for little coin.
Checked an old thread and the gent I bought it from, and yes you are correct! The combo he was unable to get, so he made it happen. The results are great - again, I have given up on playing a 5 string bass. I am cool with that. I know for little $$, this will make someone really happy. It plays great, if it were only a 4 string. lol
