Squier Vintage Modified Jazz

I just picked up this bass for $100 with a roadrunner avenue II bag and swapped the strings for some Ernie Ball Cobalts 105. I was playing a g&l kiloton tribute through this rig, but it pushed my amp and speakers too hard since the MFD is just nasty in its output.

I have never owned one of these before and was curious as to the best tuners I could get to swap these out. They are a little gritty. I guess wd-40 might loosen them up, but I am in the mood for some recommendations. The pickups I thought were going to sound a bit underwhelming, but with my Super Bassman and the always on Darkglass Harmonic Boost, this things sounds phenomenal. I think this is a slightly older model since the font on the headstock is different from newer models. Any information would be welcomed. Thanks bassers.

Also, $100 is a great price for that bass, congrats on a nice score. I see them go for ~$300 all the time on craigslist. I played a buddy's once and loved it.

Well the dude said it was brand new and I knew something was up. He sent me a picture of a new one with the plastic on it. Turns out, it came with a roadrunner bag and it was used. It needed some light tlc but turns out it was a great score for me. I'll probably sell my g&l kiloton tribute and buy a Nintendo switch or something lol.
