So my 16th birthday was on the 29th of December and my present was supposed to be a white Squier VM 70's Jazz. However, Bax sent a natural one instead, which I didn't like the look of. So finally, after two weeks of hassle and shipping arrangements, I have my bass.
Upon plugging it in to my little practise amp (which I use with headphones) and playing for roughly 0.3 seconds, my reaction can be summed up with these images:

Pros:
- The neck was perfectly lacquered: not too much lacquer that it was sticky, but enough to give it a beautiful vintage amber colour
- There were no sharp fret edges
- The machine heads hold their tuning perfectly
- The knobs are not too stiff to turn easily, but not too loose that they feel cheap either
- It looks beautiful on so many levels it's like a multi-storey car park of perfection
- The bridge is easy to intonate (not that there's any need to though; it was perfect right out of the box)
- The output level is just right
- And most importantly, the tone is absolutely, unbelievably, unimaginably BRILLIANT! Just as good as any Fender I've ever heard
- The knobs come off with a tug
- You can't really blend the pickups: the knobs pretty much make them either 'on' or 'off' when both are running simultaneously
- The tone knob doesn't change much until it's right the way down
