Squire Infinity P Bass radius?

I just need some confirmation on the fretboard radius of my Squire Infinity P-Bass. I'm going to pull the frets on it and would like to buy a sanding block for it.

Is 9.5 correct?

Serial number starts with a CY if that matters.

Probably not much, still ... the radius IS 9.5", not 10". What's wrong with attempting to be accurate?

It also means more sanding if you pick the wrong size, and therefore more potential to get things out of true. Especially with a short block.

No, I was talking about the fretboard surface, but yes, same problem with fret work.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, the difference is probably beyond what any "hand work" could consistantly hold anyway. At a fretboard width of 2.5" the difference between a 9.5" and 10" radius is.00336 in., (1/325 of an inch) or about 3 human hairs...

I would suggest that across the width of a fingerboard there can be enough variance that the difference between 9.5 and 10" radius is immaterial. Wear, humidity changes and sneezing will cause one to look sufficiently like the other to be moot.

For example - my MIM measures very slightly different radii at the nut and the end of the fingerboard. Yet we all know that MIMs don't have conical necks.

Wait! Maybe I was ripped off!!? Then again, conical shaping is supposed to be better. What's the opposite of "ripped off" ? Ripped on?
