Squire pickguard fitment?

I am piecing together a p bass with a Squire body and fender jazz neck,in need of a better pickguard than the Squire.I purchased one from the classifieds only for it not to fit.Am I going to have to buy one specifically for a Squire or will Fender fit? I really don't want to keep buying and trying! Thanks for any help,Todd

What kind of Squier is it?
  • Vintage Modified?
  • Classic Vibe?
  • Affinity?
  • Standard?
Here's the link to the Squier "Perfect Fit Replacement Parts" Megathread. You might find what you need here. What I can say for sure is that certain Squiers are easier to match up with Fender accessories than others. The discontinued "Squier Standards" are some of the hardest to modify and will require a bit of elbow grease to make new parts fit.

I have a Squire Vintage Modified Jazz 77 and I called out to Squire customer service to get a replacement pickguard. This may be the only option for you as the holes don't always line up on different Squire pickguards. They seem to be made for each individual guitar and are not necessarily interchangeable so customer service will probably be your best bet. You can get the phone number from their web site. They were very helpful to me and I am very satisfied with the pickguard I ordered. Prices are very reasonable as well. Good luck. :):bassist:
