Stage Setup

I have another post Bass Rig Setup - Help & Ideas. This post is a bit wordy and long winded. so i am starting this post here to simplify things.

Hi all I am an Acoustic Guitar player, new to playing bass. I am wanting to know what a good stage setup would be. any effects boxes, pedals, etc that may help. a general idea would be great.

I can't wait to get that slap / hammer-and-tong sound down.

Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have.

Edit: ok well i was wanting to know things like weather to go amp on stage. or DI direct to desk. or a combo of both. for a general stage setup. and what products may be suitable. An all round setup for general use in most situations.

I like stage right cause I'm left handed :p
OP, many, many bassists use nothing more than bass>tuner>amp and get everything they need from that.
Many bassists also use much more complex rigs, of infinite varieties. It's all very personal so, my recommendation would be to just start with that basic setup and when you see something you like, try it. Unless you get a lot more specific with your needs, there's not much else anyone can tell you.
